The Principals Gery Conover, Tom LeClair, Arthur Halleran and Dan Stanton all have long standing ties to the Vineyard, its people and its unique lifestyle. They share the common vision of creating a club that will enhance and augment the cherished time that visitors and residents spend on the Island.
Gerret C. Conover
Gery founded and is partner with Tom LeClair in Conover Real Estate/LandVest, a residential brokerage firm based on Martha's Vineyard. Gery is also President of Conover Restorations, a general contracting firm specializing in high-end development and construction which has designed and built over fifty projects on the island. Gery and his family moved to Edgartown in 1970 where they purchased and restored the Charlotte Inn, a 25 room small luxury hotel and member of the prestigious Relais and Chateau organization. Gery studied art and hotel/restaurant management at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and is actively involved on several local boards and non profit organizations.
Arthur J. Halleran, Jr.
Arthur presently serves as Chairman of the Board of each of QueensFort Investment Corporation and The Halleran Company, LLC. QueensFort and Halleran are investment concerns that structure sale leaseback transactions and invest in commercial and residential real estate projects. Prior to forming QueensFort in 1995, Arthur served as Chairman of the Board of First Winthrop Corporation, a major commercial real estate investment concern located in Boston, Massachusetts. Arthur's career with First Winthrop spanned approximately 18 years. Arthur was a member of the visiting faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has served or is serving as Chairman or Vice Chairman on several company boards. Arthur also served as Trustee for numerous institutions, including Brookwood School, Canterbury School, Fordham University, Villanova University, St. David's School, the International Center for Photography and the Performing Arts Center of Miami. Arthur received his BA from Villanova University in 1969 and his MBA from Harvard University in 1972.
Thomas E. LeClair
Tom is a partner with Gery Conover in Conover Real Estate/LandVest, a residential brokerage firm based on Martha's Vineyard. Tom grew up in West Hartford, Connecticut and spent summers on Martha's Vineyard before moving to the island permanently from New York in 1992. Tom received a B.S. in Business Management from Keene State College in New Hampshire, and a Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in International Relations from the University of Hartford’s MBA program through the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Before partnering with Gery Conover in 1992, Tom lived in Paris for three years following graduation working for Techtrans LTD, a Paris based marketing company
Daniel W. Stanton
Dan is a principal and a founder of Samson Capital Advisors LLC, a fixed income money management firm for high net-worth individuals. Dan was formerly a partner and managing director of Goldman Sachs and Co. Dan's career with Goldman Sachs spanned over 22 years. Dan is a member of the Board of Overseers of Columbia University Graduate School of Business, a member of the Board of Trustees of Canisius College and is Chairman of the board of The Benjamin School, in Florida. Dan received his BS, summa cum laude, from Canisius College in 1979 and his MBA, from Columbia University in 1981.
